Mini interview: Minna from eat pray create
Tell us a little about yourself and your shop.
My name is Minna, and I live in Portland, OR! I make hand carved rubber stamps that can have many uses. I am able to make custom stamps that are perfect for weddings/parties, or just to use for yourself. I also sell other items in my shop as well, like cute mini clothespins (:
How did you come up with your name?
I feel like the name of my shop represents my way of life. I love to eat; I’m a spiritual person; and of course I love designing/creating things.
When did you first become interested in your craft?
I first started carving stamps a few years ago just as a hobby. My brothers told me that I should start selling them, and the rest is history!
What inspires you?
I am inspired by anything that cheers me up! My designs are sweet & cute, and I always hope that my stamps make my buyers happy (:
What is your work space like?
Oh dear, well my workspace is pretty messy I must admit, but when everything is organized and in its place, it looks decent. On my very large table, I have multiple organizers & boxes to keep everything in, and files to store papers in. Above my desk, I have many posters & family photos hanging.
Any tips or advice for anyone wanting to be in your shoes?
I would tell him/her/them, to never give up! In the beginning you might be a little down because you feel like no one wants anything you make, but once you get the ball rolling everything will turn out great!
If you had to pick any item from your store to be your favouties which would it be?
I would have to say this item is my favorite: nice weather hand carved rubber stamp
This is because this was my first item that was featured on the front page of Etsy!
