Orrr, my husband is a graphic designer/ senior art director at HOST, an advertising agency in Sydney. He has been the industry for 14 years and he was at OGILVY over 5 years prior to Host. He works for major clients like Qantas, Nokia, AMEX, Coca-Cola etc…

He always does something unexpected and loves to make people laugh.
Akiko, I am a journalist at Sydney bureau of major Japanese newspaper. My areas are politics & economy. So nothing to do with arts and I am always inspired by my arty hubby and his mates. I will be mother a in a few months and I am very excited to have whole new life!
We love something vintage & unique. We go to weekend market almost every week and we go to local markets when we travel overseas. We love the beach, good food and having fun!
You guys are so cute. 🙂
How did you choose the name bRainbowShop?
It took such a long time to come up with this name! We wanted something WOW & easy to remember. bRainbow is combination of brain + rainbow. Brain represents creativity, thinking and ideas. Rainbows appears after it rains and makes people happy. Hence, we want bRainbow to bring a lot of happiness and smiles to people with our creativity.
I am a graphic designer myself so I know where his creative streak comes from but has your hubby always been a crafty man?

Definitely yes! He has fine arts background so, he is very arty person. He loves markets and often finds something odd and recreates it to be something new.
Do you join in on the making of your goodies?
Yes, but I have to admit that the most important jobs are done by my hubby. However, when it comes to assembly, it’s always my job. I try to do as much work as possible and I want him to focus on creative & design process.

So you are a mum to be. You must be very exited! What are you looking forward to most?
I am so thrilled to have a new life. My daughter will be our first priority. I cannot wait to decorate her room, dress her up and anything else to do with her. I also hope that bRainbow becomes more popular and bring more business. If bRainbow can be my full-time job, that would be perfect! I can work around my baby and my hubby can make most use of his creativity.
Which of your creations is your favourite? Does hubby agree or does he have a different choice?
I love 3D retro TV. It’s so cute and I can use it as a necklace or just an object on my desk. He agrees with me! Both of us are so happy it is our best seller and many people love it, too!
The TV is my favourite too! 🙂
We also created new 3D cube Owl which is awesome!
Another favourite is star wars / controller set. They are great! Star wars & old school game controllers are icons of 80’s. Orrr combines those old school and contemporary designs. It is perpetual adaptation and we are sure this will be THE trend!
You guys are fairly new to the etsy sceen. How are you finding it?
Yes, we are very new as a seller but we have been addicted to Etsy for such a long time as a buyer. I bought some handmade bags and vintage findings from Europe. Orrr often buys vintage T-shirts or toys. We even went to see a seller in Amsterdam when we travelled because we loved the shop so much and we wanted to see actual store!
I think Etsy is very user friendly site and I was surprised how many people find our shop and put hearts on our items. It has interactive functions such as treasury or circulation and makes it feel more fun and rewarding.
Have you sold your work at markets or in any stores? If not would you want to?
