Guest Post: Marci from Dreaming in Craft
Hello. My name is marci. I write a blog called It’s Always Something and own an online
shop called Dreaming in Craft. I’m very excited to be guest blogging on Crafted while Dom is away. She has been such an awesome support to me and my shop since I met her. 😉

I asked if there was anything in particular she wanted me to write about and she told me
to write about anything I want. So, since June 11th was the first International Yarn Bombing Day I thought it would be fun to
talk about knit graffiti!

Have you ever heard of Magda Sayeg? She is the creator of Knitta Please, a group of artists who travel the world yarn
bombing everything!
bombing everything!
These are just a couple pictures I have taken of Magda’s work in Austin. We are
so lucky to have her living here in Austin. Her work pops up all over the place!

Earlier this year I had an awesome opportunity to work on an installation called A
Knitted Wonderland. A group of local knitters all volunteered to cover 99
trees with knitting. The only requirement was that we used a specific set of colors
and made stripes. Other than that we were free to do whatever we wanted.
This was an amazing experience! I worked with my mom and my friend Bridget and I’m so happy with our finished tree.

It was so beautiful to see all 99 trees together!
You can see all of the pictures I took of the installation on my flickr page.

I can’t wait to see all of the pictures from the very first International Yarn Bombing Day!
If you could cover anything with knit graffiti what would it be? I would
love to cover the big posts on my car port. It would be fun to see the reactions
from people driving by. 🙂
Great post marci! 🙂 – Dom. x
