D.I.Y. Block script table numbers
If you are a regular reader you’ll know I’m a little wedding obsessed. At the moment all I want to do is make beautiful things to bring a handmade touch to someones special day. I’m slowly filling my Etsy store with pretty things and this is my latest addition.
But just because I’m selling these doesn’t mean I don’t want to help other people make their own! Here’s how to make them…
You will need:
Transparent adhesive vinyl – a.k.a. contact
Block of wood
Spray paint – I used Rust-oleum 2X
Printer and paper – or you can draw free hand
Large scrap paper – old wrapping paper is awesome
Step one
Print the numbers you want on the blocks. Tape the paper to your cutting mat and tape the contact paper onto the paper. By taping the paper to the mat it should hold still while you’re cutting. Because the contact is transparent you can see the word through it to cut. Pretty cool. 🙂
Step two
Very carefully cut out the word. You want the lines to be a smooth as possible. If you need to you can trim a few bits with scissors to neaten it up. This step isn’t a quick process. If you cut to far into a letter you will have to start the whole thing again so be patient and take your time. This took me about 25 minutes to cut!
Step three
Peel off the backing of your number very carefully and place it down onto the block. Take your block outside and put it on a large piece of scrap paper.
Safety first! Always spray outside or in a well venerated area.
Step four
Spray away! New to spray paint? Here’s a few tips. Do as many coats as you need.
Step five
Once the paint is dry (doesn’t take long at all) very carefully peel away the contact from the wood.
Finished! Now make as many as you need for your special day.
After reading through the process you’re thinking, “hmm… if only someone would make these for me” well you are in luck! I have these pretty little table numbers listed in my etsy store.

What font did you use?
What font did you use for these blocks please?
Hi Karri, The font is called Coneria Script. Another great font to look at is Al Fresco. I use that one a lot now.

Can I purchase 10 of these from you?
Please email me details. Thank you!
Hi Heather,
Thanks for your enquiry but unfortunately I’m no longer taking orders for these pieces.
Try giving them a go yourself. I’m happy to help if you have any questions. 🙂
