How to: Heart Garland, Valentines Day Craft
You will need:
Felt
Thread
String
Stencil
Stuffing (not pictured)
Pegs (not pictured)
Step 1
Trace the heart from your stencil. You can draw the hearts yourself however if you do I recommend making a stencil for your shape so you can make all of your hearts uniform.
Step 2
Cut out the hearts.
Step 3
Cut out patches for the hearts. They can be as big or as small as you like! You can leave this section out but I think it makes them look really cute! 🙂
Stitch these patches onto one of the hearts.
Step 4
Choose a second heart and start to stitch the two together. Once you get to the spot you want to attach the loop to the heart stop stitching.
Step 5
Cut a piece of the string to make a loop. I used a piece around 10cm long.
Tie a knot in the end.
Step 6
Stitch the loop into the spot you want the heart to hang from.
Make sure you really do stitch through the string and not just around it.
You don’t want the loop to slip out. This is what the knot is for. Incase the string does slip out the knot should stop it from completely falling out.
Once the loop is in place continue stitching the heart. Leave a small section unstitched so you can fill the heart with stuffing. Once the heart is full to your satisfaction stitch up the rest of the heart.
TA DA!
One heart done! Continue this process until you have as many hearts and you need.
Step 7
Stretch a length of string where ever you want to hang your beautiful hearts. 🙂
I painted some pegs white. I used one of my favourite paints Matisse Iridescent White. LOVE IT! 🙂
Pretty 🙂
Happy Valentines Day!
