Book Review: Wild and Wonderful Fleece Animals
Ok so as I am sure I have mentioned before, and anyone who knows me out of the land of the internet will agree, I have an addiction.
CRAFT BOOKS!
I just can’t stop! I love them! Although I am not easy to please… its gotta be a good one. I have high standards…
Yesterday I put my car into the tire place and had an hour to kill… so of course a large portion of that hour was spent in Borders. As a result I was basically FORCED to buy another book 😉
This gave me an idea.
I am going to start a book review series. I will do one a week until I go through all of my books. And at that stage… well i might need to buy another. hehe.
There are a few things I look for in a craft book. I am going to use these as topics for points. Although I must warn you they will all score pretty well because I like them enough to have used my hard earned money to get a copy for myself. I will also give you general info on the content of course!
So to kick things off today I will tell you all about my most resent purchase.

Cover design: 7/10
Nothing super wrong with is its just not quite a pretty as it could be. I am also not a big fan of spiral bound books. I just feel like books that “perfect bound” books would last longer… but thats just me.
Layout design: 8.5/10
It is clean and clear. Good, but just not super awesome.
Pictures: 9/10
The creations are sooo cute they make the pictures great.
And there is a lot of them which I like. 🙂
Project idea greatness: 9/10
The animals in the book are gorgeous! Seriously cute! And there are some great concepts involved in the design of the animals that I have not seen before.
Clear instructions: 8/10
Nice illustrations for every step of the projects. I was quite impressed.
Total crafted score: 83/100
Intro
There is a great intro section to the book. It talks about some of the things you should know before starting on one of these projects. One section is all about different ways of stuffing the toys… I didnt know there was different ways!? 🙂
Patterns
The book comes with a collection of patterns which I have never been that interested in. I LOVE making things from scratch (including the pattern) I really try to make my works my own from start to finish.
This book might be the very first one to change my close minded thinking.
The projects in this book are so cute and I realised… I would have NO IDEA where to start if i wanted to make them my self!
I haven’t used them yet. I will let you all know how I go. 🙂
This guy is one of my favourites. 🙂
Projects
The projects featured in this book are totally adorable!!
I won’t show you a full instruction page becuase i might get in trouble for that but they are really nicely laid out and seem to be easy to follow.
The stars of the show
These next few pics are my favourite characters from the book.
I think i will start with the duck. 🙂

Speaking as a bit of a sewing book hoarder, I LOVE reviews!!!! Great idea!
I must say that I like spiral bound because because they lay flat whilst I'm sewing and I don't lose my page.
Great review, I'll look out for this book.
Wow I think you might have just converted me to a spiral fan! Ha ha.
Glad you liked the post. I have a few coming up you will love/may already have. 😛
Fleece is pretty much my whole life.
