Book Review: One-Yard/Meter Wonders
One Yard Wonders
by
Rebecca Yaker and Patricia Hoskins
OH what wonders they are!
Being from Australia I use the metric system but because books are so much cheaper to buy online I was only able to get the imperial addition of the book. But for a difference of $20 or so I thought I could put up with needing to do some conversions every now and then. he he.
This is by far my favourite sewing pattern craft book I have ever read!
The projects in here are just so practical and have a unique spin on the usual projects you see in other books.
Cover design: 8/10
Great functional cover. It shows a peek into several of the projects that are in the book.
Layout design: 9/10
Clean. Simple. Pretty. Makes the instructions really easy to read and understand.
Pictures: 9.5/10
The pictures are great quality and what I think is so great is that a lot of them show the item being used! For example an apron being worn while someone cooks a meal. Just makes the project seem real and achievable. 🙂
Project idea greatness: 10/10
Seriously. As I said before so practical but they have this great unique touch that seems to make these projects really stand out from the rest.
Clear instructions: 8/10
Simular to the last book review I did I have not had a chance to complete any of these projects yet however from reading through them they seem to be fairly straight forward and easy to follow. 🙂
Total crafted score: 89/100 (WINNER SO FAR!)
Patterns: Always a bonus to any crafty book. 🙂 I do try to create my own designs, however it is so great to have their patterns to work off if you are not so keen on making your own design.
Intro: The first few pages of this book is great. Ill be honest I skip over this section in a lot of crafty books but I found this one really helpful!! Definitely do not skip this bit! 🙂
Sections: I really like the way this book is divided. Great topics like Household affairs as you can see above. This section is full of items that can be used in day to day life at home. Other topics include from head to toe, full of fashion ideas and your furry friends with lots of creative pieces for your pets!
Projects: So so wonderful! I seriously cant wait to make some of these!!

This book looks awesome. Just found the metre version on Amazon and have added it to my wish list 😀
It's such a great book. 🙂
I love that book! I probably would have made more items from it, but it was from the library so I couldnt use that patterns sadly lol
