Faux moss hoop table number
Looking for table numbers for your event?
From traditional to rustic, these faux moss numbers would make the perfect addition to any table no matter what your theme is.
I had so much flocking left from when I made the Faux moss word and I’ve been looking for something to do with it for SO long!
Love this project but don’t want to make them yourself? Made to order hoops are available from my Etsy store.
For you crafters I will have DIY kits for these numbers available in my Etsy store soon. Please let me know if you want more details. 🙂
You will need
Grass/moss flocking
Embroidery hoop
Good quality glue (I’m using Uhu All purpose – Not safe for kids)
Light coloured fabric (I’m using a thin calico)
Scissors
Pencil
Cardboard
Heavy duty double sided tape
Step 1
Take the centre ring out of the hoop. Apply glue to the top of the hoop and cover in flocking as shows in the pic. Cover the outside edge as well. Don’t put any on the inside edge.
Once your moss is dry check for any bald spots and apply just add more where it’s needed.
Step 2
Cut a your number from a piece of cardboard. It doesn’t matter to much what colour you use however I would recommend a green to blend in with the moss incase there is any visible when you finish.
Step 3
Cover the front of your number in moss. To hide the cardboard edges apply some glue carefully along each side and add some more flocking.
Step 4
Stretch some fabric in your hoop.
Step 5
Use double sided tape to hold the excess fabric behind the hoop.
Step 6
Now all you have to do is stick on the number and you’re finished! 🙂
What do you think?
It’s a very simple project but I think it’s really effective and would look awesome on any wedding table.
I’ll be making up kits for these numbers to put into my etsy store.
If you want more information just let me know. 🙂
